Verbs often express some kind of action. For this reason they can have a strong impact on a text.

Writing Task

  • Which words show the man's a) power and b) unfriendly attitude in version B?
  • What might be the situation in the two versions?
  • How do you see the man and woman in your imagination? Are they different in the two versions?
  • If this was a scene in a film, how do you suppose the music and lighting would be?
